A Date Story, By Julie
Wow! It has been a long time since i updated, and man, have things happened and changed!! First of all, my porfolio is finally done, and i have to present it on Friday morning down at Luther. And I got confirmation back that my portfolio was GREAT!!! That just made my day!! Well, the next thing is a story, so I hope ya'll can keep up with the names and the story, so here goes!!! :)
Okay, the names first:
1. Mike--the guy at work who does the scheduling, and he is kinda like my boss....
2. Seth--Mike's younger brother (25)
3. Susie--my friend.
4. Julie--me!!
5. Darcy--Mike's wife
6. Gabe--Mike and Darcy's son (5th grader)
7. Taylor--Mike and Darcy's daughter (9th grader)
8. Jared--Mike and Seth's youngest brother
And now for the story...
I was scheduled to work on Friday from 2-9 in the evening, so I didn't have anything planned for that night. Well, on Wednesday, Mike called and left a message telling me that he didn't need to to work on Friday because they didnt' need 4 people on that night. he told me to confirm with him, so on Thursday I went in to tell him that i got his message and that it sounded like a plan. Well, he then proceeds to tells me something to the effect of "Good, now you can come over for dinner with us.(meaning his family which includes his brother Seth). I just laughed it off, because that is how Mike is, and I just figured he was joking with me. (A little bit of a background here----Mike has been trying to set me up with his brother since the beginning of the summer).
I didnt' think anything of it, so I went to Walker (a town about 30min from Longville) with my friend Susie. About 2:30PM, my mom calls laughing, and says that Mike called me, and I figured..."He forgot that he gave me the night off" I was Wayyyyyyy off!! He had called so that his brother Seth could talk to me, and to see if I wanted to go out with him that night. So, Susie and I quickly came back home so that I could call him. i was so nervous, that I didn't know what to say, but the conversation went really well, and I ended up going out on a date with him.
We went to Brainerd (about an hour away) for dinner, and then we came back to his brothers house to watch The Longest Yard, with Mike, Darcy, Gabe, and Jared. It was quite interesting because I didn't know what to do. The whole night Seth kept looking at me,and smiling whenever someone would say something. It was really cute. Now all I have to do is wait for him to call me back to see if I want to go out on another date. I'm tempted to ask Mike if Seth said anything, but then that seems like it would be kinda rude. I do kinda like Seth, and i'm hoping that he calls me again sometime....and how weird would that be, dating my "bosses" brother?
Well, I gotta get going.....Hope all is well with everyone!! I know I'm having a great time up in the Northwoods!! ;)
